Apple Watch shipping delays already pushing two months
Did you get your Apple Watch pre-order in seven hours ago when they first opened? If you did, you’re in good shape, and may be just a few weeks away from getting your hands on Apple’s first smartwatch. But maybe you weren’t quite sold yet on what Apple’s doing here and wanted to take your time – maybe even schedule one of those in-store demo appointments to get some hands-on time with the wearable. While that sounds like a smart move, that delay may end up costing you (at least in terms of time), as Apple Watch shipping estimates keep right on sliding back and back.
Going into this, we knew that some Apple Watch models would see better availability than others, and right from the get-go, delays were expected for certain configurations. But over the past several hours, as more and more customers have submitted their pre-orders, ship dates have been steadily moving backwards.
Right now if you log on to Apple’s site to place an Apple Watch pre-order, the soonest you could hope to see your smartwatch arrive is four to six weeks. The majority of options look like they’ll ship in June, and we’re even seeing July dates start popping up.
While at some point we’re sure stock will catch up with demand, for the moment the situation’s only getting worse, with those ETAs slipping further and further out.
