Apple Watch advertising includes magazine covers and supermodels
Since we’re just a few weeks away from Apple’s launch of the Apple Watch, it’s only logical for the company to begin its famous advertising push. We saw how the company used the humor and talent of Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake to promote the iPhone 6 in the TV ads, so we don’t expect any less of a push for the company’s new Apple Watch, and today we get to learn part of the company’s strategy.
Since the Apple Watch is a fashionable wearable that also focuses on providing users with health information, Apple has decided to choose former Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel to promote the Apple Watch on the March cover of SELF magazine. SELF is all about health, nutrition and fitness advice, so we could say Apple is nailing all of its market focus with one strike. If you look closely, you’ll notice that Swanepoel is using the Apple Watch Sport variant for the cover, which we hear will be the entry-level Apple Watch at $349.
This wouldn’t be the first time Apple uses supermodels and fashion magazines to promote the Apple Watch, as we heard that Vogue China did this same thing a few months ago. We should learn more about the company’s marketing plan as we near the device’s launch.
