Apple Stores Will Match Sprint’s iPhone Price Discounts If You Ask Them To

This is probably not the best time to get an iPhone, since we’re probably just a month or two away from Apple’s next generation smartphone. That said, if you’re in urgent need to get one, that doesn’t mean that devices like the iPhone 4S won’t remain relevant for at least another year or two.

As carriers begin doing their best to boost sales during the slowest season of the year, Sprint took the lead by dropping as much as $86 from any iPhone that you purchase in their network after a two-year contract. That involves dropping $50 off the price tag, and then waving the $36 activation fee. An interesting report though is that Apple Stores seem to have already been instructed to match these discounts. There’s a catch though, as the Apple employee will most likely keep his mouth shut unless you explicitly tell him that you’ve learned about Sprint’s discount and ask for these prices to be matched.

That means that you can get a 16GB iPhone 4S for $149.99, a 32GB model for $249.99 and the 64GB model for $349.99. You can also get the 8GB iPhone 4 for just $49.99 if your budget is limited thanks to discounts from companies like Best Buy and Radio Shack. Too bad they don’t support the old iPhone 3GS though, since I wouldn’t mind leaving the store with a $50 gift card.

Again, I can’t stress enough how bad a time it is to buy a new iPhone right now, but hey, I know it’s your money any way.
