Spotify doesn’t do it, but Apple Music now can.

While Apple has been righteously (and rightfully) promoting its own interests — from mobile OS to audio products — on Android through app development. Some observers thought that this would mean that these Android apps wouldn’t get the TLC that Apple’s iOS apps would get.

Not the case this time, though there’s a discrepancy at play. Apple Music version 0.9.5 (yep, still in beta) is now available on the Play Store and it allows users to download songs to their SD cards. It’s big reach from Apple down to people who wouldn’t buy into the iPhone ecosystem, often more expensive than maintaining a presence on Android. This is especially meaningful for owners of low-end, low-native storage phones.

iPhones do not have microSD card slots. Google has been trending away from them.
