Expect three iPad Pro releases in early 2017, including 7.9 and 10.1-inchers
Is the new MacBook Pro flying solo to a lower-key-than-usual Apple event late this month or early next in time for a holiday season commercial launch? Well, the iPhone 7, 7 Plus and “iWatch” Series 2 are all out and about, while the iPad family already received a rebranded 9.7-inch member last spring.
Granted, a fifth-gen Apple TV, other Mac computers and even a Cupertino-brewed Amazon Echo rival could also be coming sooner rather than later, but on the iPad front, most trusted sources only expect movement in March or April 2017.
Fresh word around the water cooler previews a full trio of iOS tablet upgrades, all prospectively carrying the Pro suffix. That’s right, there likely is no iPad mini 5 in the pipeline, but instead an iPad Pro in a 7.9-inch size, alongside rehashed 12.9-inch and 10.1 (not 9.7) models.
All three are tipped to adopt quad-speaker and quad-microphone setups, with 3.5mm headphone jacks still in tow (huzzah), and the 12MP rear camera of the mid-sized variant also featured on the smallest and largest next-gen Pros.
Last but not least, Apple is purportedly cooking up Smart Keyboards for all, including a diminutive Smart Connector-sporting 2017 iPad Pro following in the 2015 iPad mini 4’s footsteps.
