It looks like Apple may be refreshing the icon for its native app for Voice Memos in its iOS 4.2 update. The current Voice Memos app on the iPhone and iPod Touch features a classic microphone on a red background. However, with the introduction of the touchscreen iPod Nano at the recent Apple Music Event, Apple had chosen a simpler icon with a just a symbol of the microphone on a blue background rather than the photo-realistic version found on earlier versions of the iPhone operating system. iPod Touch and iPhone users will be greeted with this new version in iOS 4.2, which is currently in developer beta, keeping a consistent look between the iPod Nano, the iPod Touch, and the iPhone.
