Samsung AMOLED panels could reach Apple Watch and iPhone 7

Apple has had a long standing relationship with both LG and Sharp for its display needs. LG’s IPS LCD technology has clearly satisfied Apple’s needs years now, and this has even extended to Apple adopting LG’s OLED displays for the Apple Watch. Surely there was a time when Samsung’s AMOLED displays were not as great, but that has dramatically changed over the last two years, and it seems that Apple has taken notice.

Inside sources claim that Apple and Samsung have already begun flirting about bringing Samsung’s OLED displays to the Apple Watch. The source claims that Apple is already testing samples of these displays for the Apple Watch, and that even though Cupertino vowed to continue working with LG for these displays, we do know that Apple Watch customers have complained about the combination of these panels with sapphire on the stainless steel Apple Watch. What’s even more interesting is that we also hear that Apple and Samsung are also considering bringing AMOLED technology to the iPhone 7.

At this point it’s too early to predict if this will happen, but this would be a major move for Apple, and one we know will be highly praised.
