At the beginning of February we saw a leaked official Ice Cream Sandwich ROM being leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S II and we even took a quick look at what was in the build. At that time it was version I9100XXLPB and was relatively fresh: January 29.

Another version has been recently leaked. We’re looking at I9100XXLPH as of February 9. It is still Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and TouchWiz is still in the package. We flashed the ROM ourselves and found it to be a little snappier; the previous XXLPB had an improved battery life over Gingerbread and, according to reports, the latest XXLPH improves battery even more. As far as we can judge, this ROM is great for daily usage so we’re guessing a final release can’t be far out.

Note: We’re having issues with the Contacts app. It wouldn’t start.
