Android N Developer Preview 3

We’ve been watching the Android N previews closely. Following Google I/O 2016, the Android team released a new BETA of the yet-to-be-named mobile operating system. We’ve already detailed most of the exciting changes coming to our phones and tablets, like better multi-tasking support and the new notification shade in previous videos.

Google is in a tricky position with this round of updates. A majority of consumers are on Lollipop and older builds of Android. Manufacturers are trickling out updates for Marshmallow, so whatever dessert name Google picks for N, we’re all curious to see how upgrades will be handled.

While Developer Preview 3 focuses more on “under the hood” optimizations, there are a few features worth showing off.  For folks using a recent Nexus, you too can join in on the BETA fun, though we should caution against using pre-release software on your main daily driver phone, unless you’re super brave of course.

Let’s take a quick look at Android N Developer Preview 3!
