More Marshmallow, more of the time. The clock stands at 106 days — that’s three-and-a-half months — since the final images of the first build of Android 6.0 were dropped onto Nexus devices. Motorola gave some encouraging news to Moto G Turbo owners in India today on that front and it looks like we’re about to see more Honor phones come online soon along with OnePlus devices.

The UK-based Honor team tweeted out a Google form for owners of the Honor 4X running build C432B310, the Honor 6 running build C900B521 and/or the Honor 6+ running build C900B324 to sign up for a beta edition of EMUI 4.2 on top of Android 6.0.

In its Chinese forums, OnePlus has posted closed beta eligibility requirements for an updated version of Hydrogen OS — its global counterpart, known as Oxygen OS, comes with Google Play services — on the OnePlus 2. Those include:

  • 30 hours of web browsing a week
  • updating their phones with new builds biweekly
  • the know-how to evaluate and flash ROMs

Participant applications are due on January 25. 200 recruits will be chosen by the next day.

The Hydrogen OS Weibo page has also confirmed that Marshmallow updates will soon be made for the OnePlus X and for the OnePlus One, a device that’s natively equipped with CyanogenOS.

There’s the chance that the Marshmallow-based Hydrogen OS will make it to the OnePlus One as a flashable ROM, just like a Lollipop-based Hydrogen OS was. We don’t have word on if and when Cyanogen OS version 13 update, based on Marshmallow, will be aired to the OnePlus One — though Cyanogenmod 13 is up for the device.
