Android Launcher Wars, Part 3: Go Launcher EX (Video)

One of the things we like best about Android is the ability to replace the launcher. Doing so can change the look-and-feel of your phone, and add new features and functionality. In our previous videos we’ve looked at ADW Launcher EX and LauncherPro. Today we look at Go Launcher EX.

Go Launcher EX is free and highly extensible. Like the two other launchers we’ve featured, this app lets you apply custom themes, resize widgets, and configure a lot of settings to help make your Android look and feel exactly like you want.

Where this app differs is in the amount of supplemental apps and widgets that are available to “plug in” to it. There are apps to replace your stock dialer and contacts app, your SMS app, and even your keyboard. All of which share the same look-and-feel, and all can be themed together.

Because there are so many settings and additional apps the video runs longer than most as we dive into many of the features of this powerful launcher. What’s amazing is that I didn’t cover everything! Our videos have been adding the features that they like best to the comments on the video. It’s well worth a look, and since it’s free, there’s no reason not to give it a try.
