We look to be really close to the announcement of Android 4.4.3, Google’s big bugfixer update for their newest KitKat operating system. Previous reports have mentioned that it could possibly be becoming official for Nexus users, and while that is still a possibility, it is becoming more and more unlikely by the minute. Thankfully, it looks like even OEMs are prepared for the release — Samsung today posted references to the update on their developer site.

Samsung sent out a Tweet letting developers know of “a workaround to solve issues with the ConsumerIrManager in Android version lower than 4.4.3”. The linked page from the Tweet also contains references to the release, so we look to be really close at this point.

We have even seen alleged Galaxy S5 Prime models running Android 4.4.3, so we are now just waiting for Google to release it to the masses. As a refresher, all the changes expected in the release can be found here.
