In a market already dominated by low-cost smartphone brands, where Apple continues to foolishly pursue profits rather than sales volumes, you don’t see a retailer like Amazon slash prices on Android handhelds quite as often as stateside.
But from today through Wednesday, August 10, India-based mobile consumers looking for the best doorbuster deals can get popular OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung, YU, Motorola, HTC and Honor models even cheaper than usual.
Granted, the discounts may not sound massive to American ears, generally ranging from 10 to 50 percent. What we can’t stress enough is the YU Yuphoria, for instance, was previously a stellar bargain, at Rs. 8,000, or $120, which makes its new, limited-time tag of 5,500 rupees ($82) simply too low to turn your back on.
The same goes for the Rs. 19,000 OnePlus X Limited Edition Ceramic, available for 23K rupees before, or the Rs. 23,000 Xiaomi Mi 5, marked down by a measly 8 percent, yet a best-selling device even at Rs. 25,000.
Then you have the typically extravagant Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, finally slashed down to 37,000 rupees ($550), the brand-new On7 Pro, offered at Rs. 1,000 off list, the dirt-cheap Rs. 6,000 BLU Win HD LTE, or Rs. 10,000 Acer Liquid Jade.
