The only other Windows 10 Mobile flagship unveiled thus far aside from Microsoft’s homebrewed Lumia 950 and 950 XL finally has official availability and pricing details attached to its name. Merely for the EMEA region, that is, with more specifics coming closer to the phone’s launch elsewhere, but it’s a start.

A promising start? It depends on how much you value the docking station, keyboard and mouse Acer vowed to bundle with the Liquid Jade Primo off the bat, and whether or not Redmond’s currently glitchy software will be stabilized by February.

That’s when the “premium” 5.5-incher is slated to hit Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the price tag doesn’t look pretty, at €569 ($620), if you’re not into Continuum and the whole PC-like experience the Acer Liquid Jade Primo is capable of on an external display.

Speaking of, the handheld’s actual screen sports Lumia 950 XL-inferior Full HD resolution, and under the hood, a slower but cooler hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor runs the show. The 3GB RAM count, 32GB internal storage space, microSD support, USB Type-C connector, and 21MP rear-facing camera perfectly match the specs of the main rival and Win 10 ally, while the 8MP selfie shooter on the Jade Primo should actually trump the 950 XL’s 5MP secondary cam.

Unfortunately, a key piece of the new guy’s puzzle remains up in the air, as Acer refuses to talk battery endurance numbers, whereas from a purely aesthetical standpoint, the Primo is definitely a contender, with a curved back cover, “ergonomic 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass” display, and “sleek and slim profile.” Such a shame it’s not constructed out of any premium metal either.
