An LG V20 likely to replace V10 in early September

With word of an LG Pay card coming later this year and integration with the sequel to the V10, there obviously has to be talk about a sequel to the V10. That’s pretty important, don’t you think?

Korea’s ETNews is reporting that while Samsung has pulled up its launch event for the Galaxy Note 7 compared to past years, LG may come out with either an V11 or, more likely, a V20 in early September rather than October.

An earlier start for Samsung as well as a modified brand is expected to help the chaebol keep its sales momentum from the Galaxy S7. The August 2 launch is just three days out from the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, an event Samsung has promoted with a special edition Galaxy S7 edge.

What about LG? It’s trying to get itself out of a rut made from poor sales of the G5. It has made no bones about naming the G5 as the reason it is changing up its corporate atmosphere. Analysts believe that another high-octane V-series device in September keeps LG in view of consumers between another Note and another iPhone.

No details about the phone just yet, but it’ll be a tall order to innovate on the V10 while keeping what people liked about it.
