The 3800 series iPAQs come with a special version of Snoopsoft’s Dashboard, called Compaq Dashboard thanks to a licensing agreement between the two companies. Further, the program launcer has been removed at Compaq’s request.
As a result, iPAQ owners are in a bit of a quandry: Do they upgrade to the [...]

Intel has created a new transistor design with a new insulating material that makes it more efficient than existing models. The “depleted substrate transistor” or “Terahertz technology” uses a transistor material which is much more ‘electron-hungry’ than current silicon compositions and a new material with very high insulative properties which can be applied in molecule-thick layers. The new design is capable of much higher speeds, generates less heat, and draws less power than current designs.
The new design [...]

Pocket PC 2002 includes a networking API but the built-in software and several add-ons only allow you to use a network drive to copy information to your Pocket PC. NetRunner allows you to access any shared network storage resource (e.g. desktop hard drive) just as you would a Storage Card. You can play MP3s or AVIs directly from your desktop storage so, as the title indicates, it’s like having an 80GB drive on your Pocket PC. Of course, to make it work well, you’ll need to network your [...]
