Microsoft has recently cranked the anti-Apple advertising rhetoric back up, although not in a particularly convincing fashion, likely looking to keep last year’s Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book convertible PCs in the limelight for a few months longer, as major hardware revisions could still take a while.

Discounts on both the super-high-end 13.5-inch laptop and slightly less impressive 12.3-inch tablet are of course nothing new, but a couple of configurations have constantly been left out of Redmond’s frequent sales events.

Not today, at least as far as the humblest Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is concerned, typically fetching $900 with sixth-gen Intel Core m3 processing power, a 128GB SSD and 4GB RAM, and for the next few hours, shaving a cool 150 bucks off.

Granted, the $750 charged by the end of the day, i.e. midnight September 26, doesn’t include a Type Cover keyboard or any other accessories. Just the versatile Windows 10 slate, 267 ppi display, 9-hour battery, 8/5MP cameras, stereo speakers and mics, full-size USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, headphone jack, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and all.

Separately, you can take advantage of a Core i5/256GB SSD/8GB RAM deal through October 1, where you’ll pay the normal $1,300 for the way punchier gadget, while receiving $150 back on a gift card. Oh, and the “entry-level” Surface Book, complete with a Core i5 SoC, 128GB SSD and 8GB RAM, is also discounted by $150, no coupons involved, to $1,350, until Saturday. Choose wisely, and have fun shopping!
