We’ll file this under category R for the moment – at least till we get official wording – but Paul Thurott claims he’s been told that Verizon will receive the HTC Trophy as soon as January 2011. This comes right in context with what we’ve previously heard regarding the special offer for Microsoft employees where people could pre-order the device by December 31 with January 2011 shipping, not to mention someone’s hickup inside Microsoft that announced Verizon’s Windows Phone 7 availability by Christmas.
We know that Windows Phone 7 currently does not support CMDA and we also know that there’s an update coming “early 2011” that is supposed to bring Copy and Paste functionality to the platform. If the rumors are to be believed, the upcoming update will also bring CDMA support as Verizon’s Trophy will most definitely need that in order to operate properly. The device measures 61.5 x 11.96 x 118.5mm, weighs 140 grams, comes with a 1GHz processor, 576MB RAM, 512MB ROM, (only) 8GB of Internal Storage, packs a 3.8-inch WVGA screen and a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash with HD video recording capability. Excited yet?
