The Windows Phone Design team thanked everyone involved and those who voted on the platform, granting it the Industrial Designers Society of America’s People’s Choice Award. Additionally, WPCentral reports that the Redmond platform has also received two additional awards.

International Design Excellence Awards granted Best in Show and Interaction awards for Windows Phone 7, confirming the innovation of the mobile operating system. Microsoft is expected to release its Mango platform refresh anytime now, which would bring more than 500 features to the table, some missing, some new, trying to make Windows Phone a platform able to compete with Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.
