Well, we decided to video tape the whole process of installing Windows Phone 7′s first update. It’s pretty boring, there’s a lot of waiting, and your phone doesn’t come out any different than before but at least we know the update process works. It seems like the non-carrier-branded devices out there are getting their updates first as our HTC 7 Pro recieved the update notification right away. We expect to see most of the other carrier branded phones begin to recieve their updates within a few more days.

Again, this February update does not do anything that you can see. It’s just preparing your phone to be able to recieve future updates and update notifications. You’ll want to do it at some point before the next update comes out, but it’s really no big deal if you put it off.
