It’s been quite a journey for the long anticipated WhatsApp Windows Phone client, from the early day rumors, leaks and hints (a tweet about mangos, a job posting and more recently, a teaser image) to a private beta in the Marketplace more recently.
Being contacted for a spot on the private beta team, the WhatsApp developers have issued the following response: “Thanks for your message and interest. We should be releasing a public version to the Marketplace within the next 24 hours, so I don’t think there is much point in sending you a link to the closed beta group”. That being said, check often with your Marketplace over the weekend if you are (long) waiting for the WhatsApp client.
Update: And it’s live!
