Judging by how quickly Microsoft has been adding the major features that most people have been complaining were missing in Windows Phone 7, I think we can all agree that Microsoft is listening. After only 4 months in the market, Microsoft is set to update Windows Phone 7 with the much-discussed/seldom-used Copy/Paste feature. At MWC, we’ve already heard about a few features that Microsoft intends to add to their “Mango” update which is expected to arrive in the Fall of this year. You’ve seen their fast app switching multi-tasking UI that brings up a scrollable horizontal listing of recently-used apps accessible by holding down the back button. You’ve also seen the new Internet Explorer 9 browser with its hardware accelerated HTML 5 rendering capabilities. Finally, we’ve heard that Microsoft intends to add Twitter support to the People hub.
However, we’ve also heard that Microsoft doesn’t want to reveal too much about their plans for this year’s major update to Windows Phone 7 because they’re afraid their competitors will copy them (as they have been doing.) I think we can expect to see a few surprises as we get closer to the Mango launch.
So, in your opinion, what else should be added to Windows Phone this year? Microsoft probably already has their own list of secret features, but what do you hope they might surprise us with? Let us know in the comments below.
