Verizon’s version of the Windows Phone 7-powered HTC 7 Trophy, to be known simply as the Trophy, has apparently shown up on Best Buy’s website, although there are supposedly none in stock to purchase. Normally we’d see this as an indication that a launch is imminent, but we saw signs that pointed to this model getting released as early as last month, so we’re not really sure what to expect. The unsubsidized price shows up as $600, although that figure could well be just a placeholder. Notably, the listing confirms the model number we had been anticipating for this device, which is MWP6985.
Verizon is the only major US carrier that has yet to add a WP7 handset to its lineup, although we suspect that Trophy will be joined by the HTC Pro to make for a pair of NoDo-equipped launch devices. Unfortunately, we recently heard that a release may now have been bumped into May, which would be pushing six months since AT&T and T-Mobile began selling their first Windows Phones.
