Last December Microsoft and Paramount released Windows Phone 7 “movies-as-apps” which basically were Silverlight enhanced movie apps of Paramount Pictures’ films exclusively for Windows Phone 7. After last year’s ten titles Paramount recently announced ten additional titles for Windows Phone 7 users.
The ten new titles are available to download from the Windows Phone Marketplace and enable users to watch, clip, share and interact with popular Paramount Pictures movies. “A new movie app will launch every week including True Grit, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Waiting For “Superman”, The Last Airbender, Zoolander, GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra, Beowulf and The Italian Job. The apps will be available through Windows Phone Marketplace in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Spain.**”
The main features of the enhanced movie apps include Clip Sharing for users to create custom clips of favorite scenes and share with friends on Facebook, Twitter and email, chapter selection and bookmarking, search and more. “With unique in-app features, like clip sharing via Twitter and Facebook, Paramount’s Enhanced Movie Apps are great examples of the rich applications that people will find on Windows Phone Marketplace to get the most out of their phone“, said Todd Brix, senior director, Windows Phone Marketplace, Microsoft Corp.
