Rafael Rivera shared some of his WP7 insider info with the world last week when he tweeted that we should expect Sprint’s first Windows Phone 7 device, the HTC 7 Pro, during the first two weeks of March. Sprint may be getting ready to confirm his claims, as the company has tweeted that it has a new phone to announce this coming Thursday, as well as dropped some hints that point towards it being a WP7 model.
Featuring the #comebackfeb24 hashtag, the tweets in no uncertain terms announce that Sprint will be welcoming a new phone to its lineup on Thursday. While there aren’t that many smartphone possibilities right now for what that phone could be, the carrier’s follow-up tweet has us thinking very strongly that this will be a WP7-related announcement.
Sprint poses this teaser as a question to its twitter followers, and mentions the phone having “a hub for gaming, music, pictures, and video”. While it might not be a definitive reveal, that talk of hubs rings very WP7ish. An announcement this week could fit with an HTC 7 Pro release in the next couple weeks, meshing with Rivera’s timeline.
Before Thursday rolls around, you can check out our review of the HTC 7 Pro, which has a QWERTY keyboard we just loved. We take a look at the GSM version of the smartphone, but you can still get a good sense of what to expect from Sprint’s edition.
