ShopSavvy, a barcode-scanning and price-comparison app for iPhone and Android, is now available for Windows Phone 7 devices, letting those users track down deals of their own.
Once you find a product that you’re interested in, snapping a quick photo of its UPC will let ShopSavvy identify the item and start searching its database for the best available deals. You’ll be able to see both the best online price as well as the best one that’s locally available at a retail store. Once you have all that information, you can balance the cost of online shipping versus the time expenditure it would take to drive to another store (you can instantly pull up a map to see just how far away the lowest prices are), and decide what’s the best deal for you.
The app itself is a free download. ShopSavvy generates income by letting businesses advertise their promotions directly to app users. If you manage to track down a really good deal on your own, you can use the app’s social tools to share that find with other users. ShopSavvy is available now in the WP7 Marketplace.
