If you were interested in picking-up some first-generation Windows Phone hardware on AT&T, you had better get your act together and move quickly. We just heard about the Surround, with its unique slide-out speakers, being marked for end-of-life status. It now looks like AT&T may be wiping its stable of Windows Phone devices clean, with the Samsung Focus and LG Quantum now joining the Surround in the EOL club.
This news comes via a pair of screenshots from AT&T’s internal computers, where both phones are clearly marked as having reached their end-of-life designation. That’s not exactly surprising, considering plenty of new hardware is on the way; last month AT&T announced plans to add the Samsung Focus S, Focus Flash, and HTC Titan to its line-up.
On the plus side, if you give it a little longer, you might see some of that old WP7 hardware discounted even lower than the sub-$100 prices it fetches now, as AT&T clears out stocks. Out with the old, in with the new!
