We’ve got some more news from the Nokia Windows Phone deal. This time Elop is saying that Nokia expects to be able to lower the price point for Windows Phones very quickly once production gets up to speed. Here in the States you can already get some good deals on Windows Phones from other manufacturers for $99 on contract, so I’m not sure how much lower than that they expect to go. However, inexpensive Windows Phones will be important for converting the huge marketshare of Symbian users.
While the first version of Windows Phone 7 was very strict in hardware requirements, we also learn from the Reuters article linked below that Microsoft will begin supporting other chipsets as well.
