The well-known Eldar Murtazin made yet another Nokia and Windows Phone 7 related tweet and according to the information he posted, models named W7 and W8 will be the Finnish company’s first Windows Phone 7 powered smartphones.
Murtazin also referenced Nokia Windows Phones last month when he tweeted about two Nokia Windows Phones on Chassis 1 and two on Chassis 2. This time, it’s specific to the model, even though it’s just a rumor at this time.
This R category folder so far contains files on an HTC Mozart-like smartphone called the Nokia W7 while the W8 is comparable to Nokia’s N8. The naming convention could work as W would be a strong indication for Windows Phone. W7 would, according to Murtazin, have the recently launched X7 at its core — indicating a multimedia oriented smartphone — while the W8 would inherit the awesome camera from the N8.
Whatever the outcome will be, Nokia, Windows and Phone are three words to watch for in the next coming months as we’re sure the Finnish company won’t miss the holiday shopping season and have at least one smartphone out there with Redmond platform on it. What are your thoughts? Oh, and Nokia is said to have a dozen Windows Phones planned for 2012.
