The Lumia 800 is one great-looking phone, sure, but some owners of the Windows Phone handset have been a little underwhelmed by the device’s battery performance. Nokia caught-on to their complaints, and decided to do something about it by releasing a series of updates that would address the power consumption issues. The first such update went out last month, and the second was announced for January. Later, a carrier leak suggested that we might see that second update arrive today, on January 18. Sure enough, users are now reporting that this latest update is already making its way to their phones.

So far, we’ve heard reports of Lumia 800 phones in France receiving the update; it’s likely already available in other nations, as well, and should see its reach spread even further in the coming days.

The primary component of this update, which we’re told brings the phone up to firmware version 1600.2483.8106.11500, addresses the 800′s inability to make full use of its 1500mAh battery. We’ve yet to see a full changelog, but this update reportedly contains other fixes, as well, including one that should improve wireless connectivity.
