We’re not entirely sure if this is a hack that some one put together or if Nokia is actually planning on releasing a new version of their N8 device running Windows Phone 7. As you know, Nokia has committed to releasing many of their future phones running the Windows Phone 7 platform. Perhaps the Windows Phone version of the N8 will be called the “N8w” which would harken back to the days when Palm actually made two versions of their popular Treo smartphone, one running their native Palm OS; Treo 700p, and one running Windows Mobile; Treo 700w. You may have noticed that the current Nokia N8 does not meet Microsoft’s original Windows Phone 7 chassis specifications, but we do know that Nokia will be working with Microsoft on future hardware changes and innovations.
