The announcement of Nokia’s first Windows Phone handsets this fall was an eagerly-awaited event, to put it mildly, and while we were very happy with what was revealed, attentions are already turning to Nokia’s follow-up effort. We’ve seen plenty of pictures of mystery phones, of conceptual renders, and heard rumors about how the company might release these future handsets. Last week Nokia Taiwan mentioned plans for new hardware in the first half of next year. Today we hear a little more about how that might go down, with rumors tackling the next Lumia handset.

Supposedly, the Lumia 900 will be introduced sometime early next year. We’re not sure if it’s specifically going to be focused at the 900, but word of a Nokia advertising campaign set to launch in the US in January or February may correspond with the handset’s release plans. If that’s to be the case, we could hope to see the phone formally announced sometime around the CES.

The suggested hardware for the Windows Phone device has it picking-up a larger screen than the 800, moving to a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display. It would keep the 800′s 1.4GHz processor and eight-megapixel camera, while arriving with Microsoft’s forthcoming Tango update installed.

Frankly, none of that sounds really surprising, but that doesn’t mean we’re not looking at another solid Nokia handset; the larger screen alone sounds a great option to add to Nokia’s Windows Phone stable, especially considering the sub-four-inch Lumia 710 and 800.
