We started-off the week by bringing you news of Nokia’s expected lineup of new devices for the Mobile World Congress. Among the handsets we learned were in Nokia’s plans were two Windows Phone models. The Lumia 900 is one we’re familiar with thanks to CES, and the only difference we expect to see at the MWC is a new global cellular radio. The other model is quite a bit more mysterious; we know it as the Lumia 610. While we still have plenty of questions about this handset, we’re now starting to see signs confirming the handset’s existence, as well as provide some brief insight into its hardware.

Just as we often discover information about smartphone hardware thanks to agencies like the FCC in the US, today’s news of the 610 comes to us from a device testing center in Indonesia. The model is marked simply as the 610 – no “Lumia” branding present in this documentation – and was added to the database late last week. The brief description available for the phone mentions GSM support on the 900MHz and 1800MHz bands, as well as 3G on 2100MHz.

We’ve been going on the understanding that the Lumia 610 (and Lumia 601, if that is in fact the same model) might be the sort of Tango phone we’re hoping to see Microsoft use to spread the reach of Windows Phone to developing nations. News of the handset preparing to launch in Indonesia sounds like some additional support for that idea.
