When Nokia’s first Windows Phone handsets arrived, we were understandably excited to get our hands on them and see if the actual user experience would live up to our hopes. The Lumia 800 largely satisfied those expectations, though we still identified quite a few areas where Nokia could have done things differently. One of those areas where we hoped the company could do better was with camera features. While HTC threw-in some special effect modes, including a panorama setting, Nokia was missing such luxuries. Now it looks like Nokia’s finally coming around to spruce things up, and has revealed its intention to introduce just such a panorama mode in a future update.
Nokia’s king of all things cameras, Damian Dinning, responded to a tweet earlier this week from a user singing the praises of a third-party panorama app and wondering if the 800 might pick up the same thing in some native functionality. Sure enough, Dinning has confirmed that such a feature is in the works. There’s no word on an ETA, or if we might see it on other Lumias, but this is still a nice treat for 800 owners to look forward to.
