We knew that Opera was going to launch two new products at this year’s CTIA — namely Opera Mini for Android, BlackBerry, Symbian/Series 60 and J2ME phones plus Opera Mobile 11 adding MeeGo in addition to Android, Symbian and Windows 7 — and they just did.
In a recent post on the Opera Community forums, dagolav underlined that the new Opera Mobile 11 is and will not be available for Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.x platforms. The reasons are Microsoft who has “moved their efforts away from the Windows Mobile operating system”, no more new devices being launched as well as market share shrinking. Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5.1 will continue to be available for Windows Mobile but they’re likely to be the highest version numbers for the mobile operating system.
