This week’s new Xbox LIVE game for Windows Phone is “MiniSquadron”. It’s a 2D flying game where you use a directional joystick on the lower left to fly your plan through different areas while shooting down enemy planes. There are 9 different area levels and about 60 planes that you can unlock to use in the dog fights. Cool power-ups will occasionally fall from the sky and if you catch them you’ll either get better weapons, an extra life, invisibility, extra speed, etc. Playing the game is a lot of fun and reminds me a bit of Rocket Riot, except it’s a bit slower in terms of the action. Be sure to try the game with the sound on… there’s some great classical background music!
MiniSquadron will be available tomorrow in the Windows Phone Marketplace for $2.99 and of course, there will be a free trial available as well.
