With earlier news that Windows Phone 7 has now entered the technical preview stage and developers are starting to receive their devices, it seems that Redmond, Washington is continuing its generosity by issuing all 90,000 plus employees worldwide a Windows Phone 7 smartphone. The news was initially caught by Mary J. Foley, who retweeted a Twitter message of one of Microsoft’s employee stating “Every single microsoft employee will get a windows phone 7.”
The news has also been confirmed by another Microsoft employee, John Starky, who tweeted “Cool announce that all #microsoft employees to receive free #WP7 phone. I’m ordering an @HTC version.”
Microsoft’s move would be unsurprising and would match what Google has done in the past for its employees and developers when Android initially debuted to gain traction.
