Microsoft’s retail stores may be few and far between, as well as disproportionally distributed mainly on the west coast, but if you happen to be in relatively close proximity to one, and you’ve been thinking about picking up a new Windows Phone model sometime soon, the company’s got a pretty decent promotional offer going on.
Signs advertising the deal have been spotted in Microsoft stores, where they promise one free year of Zune Music Pass for customers buying a new phone. The offer is being positioned as a Valentine’s Day promotion, so you’ve only got the remainder of the next two weeks to take advantage of it.
Prices at Microsoft’s stores look to be pretty much in-line with what the carriers are offering, and even better in a few cases; you can get an HTC Radar 4G on T-Mobile for about $100 on-contract, or maybe a Nokia Lumia 710. The 710 is still $40 straight from the carrier, but Microsoft’s selling it free-on-contract. Throw in the year of Zune, itself worth over $100, and it doesn’t look like a bad offer at all.
