Some (it’s fair to say that the number is unknown) users have experienced errors in the past while trying to update their Windows Phones to a newer build.
Microsoft has released the Windows Phone Support Tool which solves two errors that occur while trying to update Windows Phone 7: 800705B4 – “the timer ran out on what we were trying to do” and 80180080 – “we couldn’t update your phone because your operating system might be corrupt”.
If you’re one of the users having a hard time updating due to the above mentioned errors, follow the source link, grab the Support Tool and fix the issue by following the instructions outlined by Microsoft.
