If you were watching the WPC 2011 keynotes this morning, you may have seen a few nice demos of what Microsoft has been working on with their Lync communications software. One new thing that’s looking pretty good is the new Lync client for Windows Phone 7. The demo was pretty brief and only really showed how you could do instant message chats and see which of your colleagues were online and available.

It’s important to note that the Lync client is a separate app and will not be integrated with the Messaging interface on Windows Phone Mango like Windows Live Messenger and Facebook chat.
