The photo above is said to (blurrily) depict an upcoming Windows Phone 7 handset from LG and destined for Sprint’s network. Moreover, the device is said to be 4G-capable, which would put it in such rare and esteemed company as the WiMax-equipped HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Epic 4G. Supposedly the picture was captured by a previously-reliable source of a webOS enthusiast site called WebOS World.
As far as we know, AT&T is the launch partner of choice in the US when it comes to the next version of Windows Phone, so it’s unlikely that we’d see a handset from Sprint until later in the year; most sources suggest that phones will initially begin to ship in late October. We do know very well that LG indeed has some WP7 handsets waiting in the wings, so it wouldn’t be surprising for the manufacturer to be pushing its wares towards Sprint as well as AT&T — although currently the CDMA carrier offers no Windows Phone phones from LG at all.
