Kik is one of those cross platform propietary instant messaging applications that is an attempt at giving the Blackberry Messenger experience to a wider audience. In addition to offering your standard instant messaging features, Kik will show you when the person you’re talking to is typing a message, when they’ve recieved a message, and when they’ve read a message. Kik also nicely supports pop-up push notifications as well as a live tile so that you’ll always get the message. For the cross platform experience, Kik is also available for iPhone and Android, though no longer Blackberry.
Windows Phone Central has done a nice video demo of the new Kik messenger in action.
Kik Messenger is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
