The “HTC 7 Trophy” recently received approval from the Global Certification Forum (GCF) which means it will probably appear for sale in Europe or Asia. You’ve heard the Trophy name before. It was supposed to be a WVGA front-facing Qwerty-thumb-board-style device with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM and Windows Mobile 6.5. The device never came out like so, but maybe HTC decided to update the design to support Windows Phone 7. GCF approved phones are typically released 6-8 weeks after certification, which would be right in time for the Windows Phone 7 launch.
I don’t know about you, but I LOVED the keyboard that HTC put on the Dash 3G and Snap devices. If the Trophy is bringing that keyboard to Windows Phone 7, we could have a winner here.
By the way, the image above is a fan rendering of what the original version of the Trophy might have looked like. We don’t know what this new HTC 7 Trophy will actually be.
