Windows Phone 7 was launched and devices are expected to begin selling in Europe and Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia) on October 21st and North America on November 8th.
Quoting an unnamed analyst, the Taiwan’s Apple Daily reported yesterday that HTC’s Windows Phone 7 handsets are suffering unwanted reboot problems which might impact on availability or even device shipments in the peak holiday season. As an immediate response, the Taiwanese manufacturer’s stocks went down “6.9% at NT$624.00. The benchmark Taiex was down 1.6%“, according to the cited source. While HTC’s spokesman Maggie Cheng declined to further comment but confirmed “HTC is starting shipping phones with Windows Mobile 7 now, so it is still on schedule” while there is no comment from Microsoft as no official representative was available to make a statement according to the source.

Previous reports of an HTC Windows Phone 7 shipment delay were inaccurate. HTC is excited about the launch of our new Windows Phone 7 smartphones, many of which are beginning to ship this week across Europe.
As of this week, we will be shipping Windows Phone 7 smartphones with Vodafone, Orange and O2 and we are excited that our customers will experience this fresh, new approach to the mobile experience.
Also, beginning this week we will be hosting a series of consumer Windows Phone 7 meet-ups across Europe beginning with Berlin this Friday night and then moving on to London, Paris, Madrid and Rome next week.
