With so many Windows Phone 7 devices having received their first major update to NoDo, it’s easy to forget that there are still users who have yet to see their smartphones updated. When AT&T gave the go-ahead for the Focus and Quantum’s updates, HTC’s Surround got left behind. We had heard a rumor that the update would finally be out in mid-May, but without any hard date. We still can’t say exactly when to expect NoDo on the Surround, but Microsoft has finally updated its page informing users how the update approval and scheduling process has been going, moving the Surround forward to “Scheduling” status.
This puts the Surround, according to Microsoft’s own definitions, about 10 business days out from getting its updates. It will be receiving both the pre-NoDo February update as well as March’s NoDo-proper, one after the other. Though things could always go more quickly than expected, you can probably start looking for update notifications to arrive around May 11.
Of course, not all Windows Phone 7 users are living in the States, and Microsoft has news for you, too. Surround owners with Europe’s Deutsche Telekom, as well as Australia’s Optus, can also look forward to NoDo arriving in the same timeframe as AT&T users.
