After the very successful HTC HD2, running Windows Phone 6.5, came the HTC HD7, wave-one device running Windows Phone 7. Of course the Taiwanese manufacturer pushed out some different Windows Phones to the market but are they working on a follow-up to the HD-line?
The “…i’m a WP7!” application has records that mention a certain HTC HD8 running Windows Phone 7 Build 7740. It would come naturally after the HTC HD7 — which was referred to as the HD3 before the manufacturer changed its mind — and it could very well be an Apollo phone (Windows Phone 8). The fact that it runs Build 7740 speaks for the existence of at least one unit — in Romania, on Vodafone — but whether we’ll see the device officially at CES or MWC is yet unknown.
HTC’s latest Windows Phones are the Radar and the Titan which were introduced at the 2011 IFA in Berlin. They’re both wave-two devices and, if we come to think about things, an MWC release for another HTC Windows Phone could be possible, given that there will be six months between the 2012 MWC and the 2011 IFA event. Will it be a Tango-phone? Will we have to wait until Apollo is out?
