Setting up accounts in Windows Phone 7 is easy and straightforward. Email accounts give you the option to set up a schedule for checking messages and your Windows Phone 7 handset will normally verify if there’s anything new at that certain interval. But how about Facebook? Going to the What’s new tab of the People hub will grab all the changes for your current contacts (as per statuses, comments and pictures) but will not refresh your friend list — but within a non-configurable schedule I have so far not managed to find — in case you’ve added or removed someone on Facebook.
So here’s the deal: say you just added a couple of people to your Facebook and they don’t yet appear on your Windows Phone 7. Swipe over to the left to access Settings at the bottom then head over to email & accounts, long tap on Facebook and hit Sync. This will trigger manual on-demand sync for Facebook and all the changes you’ve made, added or removing people, will not reflect on your device. This also works with the Email accounts you’ve already set up but for those there’s an easier way — just hit the Sync icon at the bottom of your Inbox.
