The Windows Phone 7.1 SDK, and even the initial Windows Phone 7 SDK, lists support for “SelfPortraitCamera” deep within the code and then we saw the screenshot of the camera app with its camera switch button to come as a further hint, though nothing confirmed until now.
Microsoft has confirmed, via its New Zealand Windows Phone Twitter account, that front-facing webcams are coming together with Windows Phone Mango. The information was disclosed with the occasion of the TechEd NZ and according to the tweet, the upcoming Skype, with its deep integration, will offer full support for the front-facers. There you go, one more missing feature covered for all you video calling enthusiasts to rejoice!
