Once we get the development community working on Windows Phone 7 with the promise of being able to circumvent the Marketplace through an unlocker that lets users side-load WP7 apps (that’s ChevronWP7), many new possibilities are created, much to the dismay of Microsoft. The creator of the unlocking tool has tweeted that they will soon release a custom ringtone manager for Windows Phone 7. As it stands now, you cannot use custom ringtones in Windows Phone 7. Instead, you must use whatever choices Microsoft or your carrier/OEM give you. We’ll keep you posted on when this ringtone manager gets released!
