At CES this week Nokia was showing off a new app that they’re working on and is still in beta for the time being. The new app is called “City Lens” and it will be an augmented reality program that will help you find nearby locations. The app also has multiple view modes based on your phone’s orientation. Holding it up and horizontally will show the autmented reality camera mode where locations will appear overlayed with an image. Holding it in portrait mode will show a list of locations and holding it down towards the ground will switch the view to an overhead map style. Check out the video below to see how it works.
Nokia also showed actress Eliza Dushku the new Lumia 900 and City Lens app and she loved everything about it. I remember Eliza from “Dog Sees God”, but you may remember her from any number of other movies and TV shows. She’s always been a fan of Nokia phones while travelling, though if I remember correctly still uses a Blackberry in the States. Regardless, based on all the good things she had to say about the Nokia Lumia 900, it sounds like she may be switching to Windows Phone in the future.
